Porter Moving Company provides premier moving and delivery services throughout Iowa.
We are a locally owned and operated moving and delivery company that provides services in Cedar Rapids and Eastern Iowa. We also service Des Moines and Davenport. We pride ourselves on being professional and experienced. We strive on our reputation and expect word of mouth to be a huge form of advertising for us. We have become a well know white glove delivery company in the area and are capable of handling expensive furniture and know the expectations of the consignee’s receiving the furniture.
OUR HISTORY
Porter Moving Company was founded by Kyle Porter in August 2013. From childhood, Kyle always aspired to be an entrepreneur, writing down his business ideas in a notebook. Although a moving company never made it into that notebook, it turned out to be a good fit. Kyle’s passion for providing premier moving services has only grown from 2013 to now. He takes each day as an opportunity for the team to continue to learn and improve on the service we are delivering.
In 2016, the company was awarded an opportunity in the Final Mile industry. This was a huge transition as local moving blossomed into delivering furniture and other household goods throughout Eastern Iowa and beyond. This industry has grown rapidly in the last decade. After a few moves of our own to accommodate the need for more space, we settled in our current warehouse in 2018.
We are blessed to have a great staff we consider to be like family. Their work ethic and enthusiasm for the job are unmatched. We also appreciate the partnerships we have had with so many other small businesses in Cedar Rapids over the years.
