Cost Savings Tips
Be Ready on Move Day
Be fully packed prior to the movers’ arrival including artwork, lamps, TVs, and glass tabletops. Be sure your boxes are full to save truck space and trips to the truck. This will also ensure the contents will not shift inside the box.
Seal all boxes with tape on top and bottom and be sure all totes have a lid. The crew can move multiple boxes at once if they are closed and no items are sticking out. They can also pack the truck quicker when boxes are closed.
Label the boxes on the top and one side with the room they will go in at the destination.
Have furniture disassembled such as beds, fitness equipment, and storage shelving racks. Note: We will not assemble furniture we did not disassemble.
Have a plan for where furniture items are to be put in the new home. It might be helpful to map out a floor plan. This way, the crew isn’t moving the same pieces multiple times.
If changes are made to your inventory or services required between your estimate and move day, communicate them to your moving coordinator so adjustments can be made if necessary. We can send another mover or packing supplies if we know ahead of time!
Extra Measures
Declutter your home before you move. Sell items you no longer need!
Place boxes in one location that does not inhibit the movement of furniture in the house. A garage or 1 st floor room is the best option to stage boxes.
Move small items and boxes yourself.
Have flexible moving dates and move on a week day.
Measure larger items and appliances to be sure they will fit in your new home. Also measure the pathway they will need to take if you have narrow hallways, door, staircases, or an elevator.
Empty your pantry prior to your move so there is less to pack and move.
