Ready to prep for your move, but not sure what you need? Let’s get you on the right track!

Packing Materials

    • Small: Use small boxes to pack small, heavy items such as books, files, pantry and canned items, and fragile ornaments and décor like vases. These can also be used for dishware.

    • Medium: Versatile for toys, kitchenware, small appliances, kitchen and bathroom items. Can also be used for dishware.

    • Large: Use for large volume, lighter items such as bedding, linens, table lamp bases, board games, etc.

    • Wardrobe Boxes: Keep your hanging clothes on the hanger when you use wardrobe boxes and place shoes and accessories in the bottom. These boxes are also great for packing taller items like Christmas trees and wrapping paper.

    • TV Boxes: Use to pack flat screen TVs. Wrap the TV blankets or towels prior to boxing and make sure there is no space left in the box that would allow the TV to shift inside the box.

    • Mirror and Picture Boxes: Use the same technique as you would for packing a TV to ensure your artwork is protected and secured in the box. For large pictures, use 2 picture boxes that are telescoping.

  • Use packing paper to wrap fragile items. Use more than one piece for unusually fragile or heavy pieces. It also works well as a cushion in the box to prevent shifting of items in the box. Pro tip: wrap a pile of small items, such as contents from a bathroom drawer in a piece of packing paper to keep them organized for unpacking and unsusceptible to shifting in the box. You can also use bubble wrap in place of packing paper.

  • Use good packing tape to ensure there are no mishaps when you are moving. Be sure to seal both the top and bottom of each box with tape. Be sure not to cross the flaps of the box as this will weaken the strength of the box.

  • Be sure to label each box with the room it will be going to at the new home and a general idea of the contents of the box. We recommend labeling the top and one side of the box.
